Don't remind me again today

Masayoshi Son just dropped a bombshell at the FII Priority Asia forum: SoftBank offloaded its entire Nvidia position worth $5.8 billion. The reason? They're reallocating that capital into other AI ventures.

This is massive. We're talking about walking away from one of the hottest AI infrastructure plays to chase what Son apparently sees as even bigger opportunities. The timing is interesting too—Nvidia's been on an absolute tear, yet SoftBank is pivoting hard.

Son's basically betting that the next wave of AI winners won't just be the chipmakers. He's hunting for the applications, the platforms, the wild cards that haven't hit mainstream radar yet. Whether that's genius or madness, we'll find out soon enough.

What's your take? Is ditching Nvidia at these levels a contrarian masterstroke or a case of FOMO-driven portfolio rotation?

Masayoshi Son's move here... feels like he's betting on the Application Layer rather than the chip layer, but the timing is really a bit nerve-wracking. Moving so much money out of Nvidia, either he truly sees the next big opportunity, or he just wants to buy the dip on other AI projects... in the end, who knows? 5.8B, man, just like that, he's got the guts to cut it, this kind of decisiveness is indeed rare, ordinary people can't learn it. Nvidia is so desirable right now, yet he's willing to sell, probably Son has already found a new love. At this time to dump Nvidia... is he a big genius or a big fool? I really can’t figure it out. Investing so much money to find "dark horse" AI projects feels like gambling... but the rich can afford to gamble. I just want to know what exactly he has his eye on, after talking for so long, he still hasn't revealed anything. Masayoshi Son's moves are always so mysterious, looks like a chess player, sounds like a gambler. This guy really is, FOMO to the point that he himself is starting to throw in big money. Forget it, anyway, I can't play with these big capital players, just watch the excitement, everyone.

I don't quite understand this move by Masayoshi Son... Directly throwing out 5.8b? Why is Nvidia running at this time? --- Wait, does he really think the chip dividend is gone, or is he paving the way for the next bet? --- In simple terms, it's just an All in Application Layer, but which application has really landed now... --- This guy always does this, making big moves to switch tracks, either making a huge profit or losing everything, no middle ground. --- I still don't believe there's a more certain AI opportunity than Nvidia; this wave might end up backfiring. --- As soon as SoftBank takes action, the whole market starts speculating, it feels a bit neurotic. --- From infrastructure to applications... Logically it makes sense, but the timing seems a bit rushed.
