Don't remind me again today

Today, news spread in the crypto circle that Sun Yuchen's WeChat account was suspected to have been hacked. This kind of thing is actually quite common; the security protection of WeChat accounts is far from as solid as everyone thinks. I have a living example around me: after my ex-girlfriend's account was hacked, the scammer directly sent group messages to borrow money from friends, and what's worse is that they wiped out the transfer records and chat logs completely. Report it? The police are also helpless. This operation serves as a wake-up call for all of us in the Web3 circle—don't just focus on preventing your Wallet from being stolen; the security of social accounts should not be taken lightly either. After all, hackers are not just targeting your assets, but also your network and influence.

Oh my, the social account is really the weakest line of defense, it's even easier to get compromised than a Cold Wallet.

yeah so this is exactly why i stopped relying on centralized messaging apps for anything actually important. the moment your social graph becomes an attack vector, you've already lost the game tbh. trustless systems exist for a reason... people just don't want to learn them

Wow, this is getting interesting, even the celebrities can't escape it. Getting hacked is indeed something to take seriously, just protecting the wallet isn't enough. It's unbelievable, chat records can be wiped clean, the level of defense is just ridiculous. I just want to know if this is a technical issue or human error, anyway, I'm being extra cautious. If you check the social engineering database, your information could be completely exposed, it's terrifying to think about. The pros play with influence, can the consequences be the same after getting hacked? The risks are not small. Two-factor authentication really needs to be enabled, it's already 2021, are there still people who don't use it?

This analysis from my bro is quite something. Having your social account hacked is even more disgusting than losing coins; your network is directly compromised.

Now it's good, even the accounts of the top figures can be hacked, what about us small investors?

From a technical architecture perspective, there is a point worth delving into—most centralized social platform account recovery mechanisms actually have serious logical flaws and are basically a single point of failure system. Let's change our perspective. Instead of being entangled in the fact that a celebrity's account was hacked, why not reflect on why the identity verification system in the Web3 ecosystem is still so fragile? On-chain identity verification theoretically could have solved this long ago, so why are we still relying on centralized platforms? The scammers in the example could even delete chat records. What does that indicate? It indicates that the data sovereignty in your account does not actually belong to you—this is the most ironic part.

Wow, this operation can completely wipe out transaction records? I really didn't know it was this powerful before, how can we defend against this?
