Don't remind me again today

What do 1K, 1M, 1B mean in crypto? The guide you needed.

Surely on Twitter, Discord, or in any crypto group you saw someone writing “the price reached 50K” or “the market cap is 2B” and you were left wondering. Today we explain it to you without so much fuss.

The three terms that will dominate your crypto life

1K = 1 Thousand

  • K comes from “kilo” ( basically “1000” in any language )
  • 1K = 1,000
  • 10K = 10,000
  • 100K = 100,000

1M = 1 Million

  • M is “Million” (thousand thousand)
  • 1M = 1,000,000
  • 5M = 5,000,000
  • 100M = 100,000,000

1B = 1 Trillion

  • B is “Billion” ( billion )
  • 1B = 1,000,000,000
  • 10B = 10,000,000,000

The table you should screenshot

Abbreviation Means Number
1K Thousand 1,000
1M Million 1,000,000
1B Billion 1,000,000,000

Why does it matter?

Whether you're on YouTube, Twitch, trading, or crypto: these numbers are going to appear ALL the time. Understanding the difference between 1M and 1B is not a trivial matter—it's the difference between a small project and one that really moves the market. So you know, when you see “market cap of 5B”, it doesn't sound that crazy, does it?
