People keep asking why BTC is so slow lately - here’s one of the main reasons 👇
A big part of the slowdown is the $MSTR (MicroStrategy) FUD. $MSTR is the biggest BTC-related stock in the world. When there’s uncertainty around it, both normies and institutions tend to pause until there’s clarity.
$MSTR is currently under extreme pressure because of $BTC dumping, major indexes such as MSCI are thinking about delisting it which could trigger >3B$ of passive sell pressure and JPMorgan selling <100M$ of their $MSTR holdings.
A lot of institutions are simply waiting on the sidelines to see how this situation develops.
And the FUD is straightforward: “Is MicroStrategy overexposed? Is the debt too big? What happens if BTC drops?”
Most people don’t fully understand the mechanics — but the uncertainty alone is enough to slow down Bitcoin.
Here’s a simple, neutral breakdown of the situation: 👇
• Their cost basis is around ~$74k, but according to their structure they don’t face major pressure unless BTC drops to much lower levels (~15k). This is mainly because they didn’t take on $60B of traditional debt - a lot of the exposure came from issuing stock at a premium to buy BTC.
• The ~$10B they did borrow is structured differently than typical high-risk leverage. Low interest rates, no margin calls, no forced selling, and a recent raise at 0% interest in 2024.
• Their debt schedule is spread over several years: 2025–2026: $0 due 2027: ~$1B 2028: ~$2B 2029–2032: the remaining ~$7B
So a lot of the extreme “death spiral” narratives only happen if BTC stays very low for a long period - which is why institutions are watching rather than acting.
My take? I don’t trade and I don't hold $MSTR - because IMO, if you want $BTC exposure, just hold $BTC. it's as simple as that.
While the market is slow, I’m DCAing into the strongest multi-billion, multi-cycle coins but still research and hunt 24/7..
Why? Because it's only a matter of time until a real asymmetric low-cap play shows up -> and I wanna make sure that the overdose fam catches it EARLY.
