Cardano founder confronts the community: Genesis ADA is private profit, don’t even think about touching this money.
[Coin World] There has been another stir on the Cardano side. Founder Charles Hoskinson recently publicly responded to a sensitive topic – whose money are those early Genesis ADA actually considered to be?
Here’s the thing: there are voices in the community hoping to take out this batch of initial tokens to support new ecosystem integration projects. But Hoskinson directly refused. His reasoning is quite hardcore: these ADA were privately earned little by little by the early team who took the risk of losing everything; they are by no means a “community public funding pool”.
You should know that back then, Cardano was just a concept, and the chances of success were pitifully low. Those who were willing to invest money and time at that stage were taking risks that were no joke. Now that the project has been developed, these early contributors rightfully hold their deserved shares.
As for ecological construction? Hoskinson's attitude is: there is now a dedicated funding mechanism to support new projects, so stop focusing on those early allocations. He prefers that everyone shifts their attention to the governance framework that will be launched in 2026—that is the key to driving the next round of growth for Cardano.
In short, the founder is drawing a clear line: the rewards for early contributions are beyond doubt, but future developments must follow new rules.
