I’ve been feeling a bit exhausted lately from watching governance voting; delegated voting was originally a “lazy person’s blessing,” essentially lending your vote to someone you trust to vote on your behalf.

I thought it could be more decentralized, but the more I watch, the more it seems like a few people forming small groups to set the direction, with others just giving a thumbs-up from the side at most.

Who exactly do governance tokens serve… maybe they serve the retail investors’ sense of participation.

What’s more subtle is that some regions are starting to impose taxes and tighten or loosen regulations intermittently, causing people’s expectations about deposits and withdrawals to fluctuate, and when stablecoins face tension, they rush into “seemingly safer” places.

Then, the votes held by these big players/institutions become more concentrated, and their voting power becomes more justified.

Anyway, when I see the words “community decision” now, my first reaction isn’t enthusiasm, but to check the delegation leaderboard: who is representing me today.
